Only 6 and a half back!

This is just great! The Padres have finally showed some life that past week and have won five of their last six. Randy Wolf threw a gem today and was actually credited with the win. Edgar Gonzalez hit his first major league home and it actually helped the team win. The offense that the Padres have scored these last few games were actually relevant to the score! We’re so used to seeing Khalil Greene or Brian Giles hit a solo homerun only when the Padres are up or down by ten runs. The NL West is looking like the west of 2004. It is starting to look wide open once again with the Diamondbacks slipping and every other team playing terribly. Jake Peavy returns to start for the Pad Squad tomorrow against Hiroki Kuroda. I’m just happy to see Jake back on the mound and hope that he really is ready to pitch again and not coming back prematurely just because the Padres are hot and he wants to help out. Things are finally looking up for the Padres and with a win here and a win there the rest of the way, the Padres could see themselves fighting for a playoff birth.
